This calls for a groundbreaking cermony: I have finally decided to go all out and start making contributions on the web with the tools I’ve seen used so many times. I finally decided to create a Flickr account, create this blog, and submit a book review on Amazon.com. I’ve created a Flickr account before but got annoyed at it when I started stumbling across offensive images. Over the last few months, I think Yahoo has done a good job of keeping those images to a minimum. I’ve also always wanted to record my thoughts after reading books but never had a good place to do it. By reviewing books on Amazon and writing a bit more on here, I can keep a log of the books I’ve read and what I thought of them. Otherwise, what point is there in reading informational/instructive books if I don’t capture the main ideas and put them to use?
Keeping a History

I would really like my journal to be in some sort of database that I can export so that if someday I decide to move my blog, I can easily store it elsewhere. We are getting very close to having a new baby in our home and I’m so excited. This morning at breakfast as I was about to walk out the door, Dallin said Jesus told him we would have the baby in two more days. I asked him when it was that Jesus told him this and he said, “Last night, when I was praying.” I asked if it was two days from last night or two days from today and he said, “Two days from today!” I’m not sure if he knew what I meant but Lauren and I are hoping it’s tomorrow night.
I chatted with a friend from Australia who moved back there last year. She lives in a small town called Jabiru. It sounds like a really cool place to live – as long as you don’t plan to stay there forever.
I’m so ansy lately. It seems I can’t be satisfied with any of my pursuits. I’m not excited about WFG and I’m not excited about staying at Novell forever. Today I had visions of learning to program and becoming a Web developer. I certainly know HTML well enough to move to something new. I’ve been doing HTML for 5 years now. Hand-coding is ok but using HTML to create new templates is much more fun than doing production. I imagine developing with PHP, Cold Fusion, or Java would add another dimension to my life. Regardless of what I choose, I feel like I need to make a change soon or I will go absolutely insane.
